HO LE is a set of compositions for guitars, voice, alto recorder, piano,
and field recordings composed and performed by Adam Zahller. These
pieces murmur a musical tribute to the uncanny realities of being
placed. Placed in this world, alone and together, listening and not
listening to our streets and skies, our families and neighborhoods,
our insides and outsides. Placed in this world because—?

The music is a kaleidoscopic framework of the formal and informal
objects, sounds, sites, and voices. I’m listening backwards (maybe)
now or I heard this already. Whole and hole, God and dog, worldly and
HO LE. As Zahller writes in his book “we don’t know why but eyes cut
poles, ears dig holes, and the warm zero sky whorls.” A stellar solo
performance effortlessly sounding the beautiful and (un)familiar.

All Sky 5 features writing and music by Adam Zahller. The 64-page booklet
contains the poetry and photographs of HO LE. The CD is the music of HO LE
featuring compositions by Zahller for guitars, voice, alto recorder, piano,
and field recordings.
